Phenotype
Phenotype of homozygote: embryonic development is characterized by aberrant patterns of cell division, leading to defects in the cells of the suspensor, root and hypocotyl precursors, and provasculature; growth of seedlings arrests soon after germination; seedlings lack a root and hypocotyl and display severe vascular pattern defects in their cotyledons; usually possess one cotyledon or occasionally two, attached to a small basal stub. Phenotype of heterozygote: rosette leaves are shorter and more wrinkled than wt; plants are short and bushy (have increased number of basal inflorescences); fertile and green; siliques are at a more acute angle relative to the stem than wt; seedlings are auxin resistant in root and hypocotyl elongation, have delayed root gravity response and decreased number of lateral roots; backcrossed 6 times.
